Siemens expands photovoltaic capability

Siemens is set to substantially extend its share in the PV (photovoltaics) inverter market. A current IMS Research study has shown that the PV plant market is expected to grow by at least 30% annually until 2013, with the expectation that the growth rate will be disproportionately high in the commercial and power plant segment.
To address this, the company is extending its product portfolio to include the new powerful Sinvert PVM inverter for medium-sized commercial plants. The offering is aimed at both PV plant engineers and PV end users operating in the commercial segment, typically requiring inverters for rooftop systems installed on barns, schools, industrial buildings or ground-mounted plants.
