Phoenix Contact is an international supplier of automation infrastructure solutions and products. Wireless systems enable users to negotiate many of the challenges faced in an industrial communication infrastructure, and overcome many difficult installation problems encountered in the field. One of these is the issue of the safe keeping of cable runs, which are often easily accessible and therefore subject to theft. With the addition of the 868 MHz product offering, these industrial wireless units are now able to reach in excess of 20 km, and in many cases, without any line sight required. In many cases, the total solution cost far outweighs the cost of conventional cables, and adds the additional advantages of security and safety of cable run.
