Ethernet-enabled communication controllers

Advantech has released a new generation of ADAM-4500 modules – the ADAM-4501 and 4501D Ethernet-enabled communication controllers. The compact, standalone modules feature much larger SDRAM and flash memory storage, as well as various I/O interfaces suitable for industrial communication, control, monitoring and automation applications. Additionally, the controller provides a five digit user-definable LED display allowing customisation of functionality.

ADAM-4501/4501D provides four serial ports, eight I/O and one Ethernet port, allowing versatile connectivity for any industrial application. The controllers are designed with modular I/O, allowing Advantech to provide customised I/O options in a short time.

HTTP server, FTP server/client and e-mail functionality are built-in for advanced remote applications allowing users to enhance their systems with the power of Ethernet. The two controllers also support popular Ethernet protocols like TCP/IP, UDP, ICMP, ARP, FTP, HTTP, SMTP and DHCP, as well as Modbus/TCP (Server/Client) and Modbus/RTU (Master/Slave) protocol. Advantech is also able to provide libraries and example code to save users time and development effort.
