Phoenix Contact has introduced a modular PLC-Interface Ethernet Gateway remote relay system that optimises simple applications with flexible channel assignment and up to 56 I/O channels. Compatibility with common controller software enables straightforward network integration.
The system supports flexible channel configuration with digital and analogue inputs and outputs, as well as temperature modules and Ex modules. The compact design makes the modules particularly suitable for simple applications with small to medium numbers of channels in decentralised control cabinets. Digital and analogue signals are reliably recorded, while temperature and analogue values are processed precisely.
A high-performance network module enables multi-protocol connection, including Profinet Class C and S2 redundancy. Compatibility with established controller software makes integration into the control level intuitive and straightforward. Firmware updates provide continuous extension of functions and optimum performance. With up to 56 individually configurable channels, the solution can be tailored precisely to the application.
System compatibility with the PLC-Interface relay system enables straightforward function extensions in existing installations. The ecosystem covers a wide range of functions from simple coupling relays through to relay modules with integrated circuit breakers. The flexibility and compatibility of the remote relay system supports a future-ready automation strategy for simple applications.
Seven checks before replacing an obsolete industrial control component
PLCs, DCSs & Controllers
An obsolete control component rarely fails in isolation. Before ordering an exact spare, manufacturer successor or engineered alternative, maintenance and procurement teams should work through seven checks to define the problem properly and avoid a costly mismatch.
