Aaeon has announced the AEC-6860. Featuring the Intel Core 2 Duo processor this is the latest addition to the company's Boxer series of fanless embedded controllers. The controller features up to 2 GB of DDR SODIMM memory and is equipped with rich video interfaces comprising one x DVI, one x VDS, one x S-Video and one x audio port on the front panel. The unit has four x USB, three x RS232 ports, one x RS232/422/485 port, one x VGA and one x LAN port on the rear panel and also has an internal Mini PCI slot for expansion.

The Boxer series has been designed and tested for 'anti-vibration', 'anti-shock', and has been subjected to a severe drop test. The patented heat conduction mechanism makes the AEC-6860 a powerful fanless embedded controller.

For multimedia applications the AEC-6860 supports WLAN, LCD TV and HDTV resolution. The LVDS interface supports dual view and SATA hard disk drives. Its compact size and fanless design makes the controller well-suited to remote monitoring systems, and other critical applications.
