Decentralised control for mobile machines

The Ecomat 100 Smart controller from IFM Electronic is a specially designed device for use as an intelligent I/O module or CANopen master in vehicles and mobile machines. Its integrated CANopen interface enables a flexible and powerful extension of the system with additional I/O modules.
When using two CAN interfaces, a freely programmable CAN gateway for coupling different networks is available. All important bus protocols are supported enabling, for example, an easy exchange of SAE J 1939 engine data and CANopen data. Different transmission rates and the transparent or pre-processing exchange of data between the networks are supported. Both input and output functions can be set via parameters and programming with the standardised IEC 61131-3 languages enables the user clear and easy creation of the application software.
If a central controller cannot be used in a mobile machine, the Ecomat CR 2511/2513 decentralised input/output modules are employed allowing the electronics to be exactly located at the required machine positions. The flexible parameter setting of the input/output functions reduces stock holdings, and due to the bus technology, wiring is considerably reduced. Via the central plug, all required contacts for sensors, actuators, CAN bus and voltage supply are provided.
The output module provides a current control function for proportional valves. Hydraulic valves can be directly connected to the module without additional electronics.
