Siko's new generation of magnetic rotary encoders to measure distance, rotational speed and angle, are impervious to environmental factors such as latent moisture, soiling or vibration which are often a cause of erroneous measurement results.
The contactless encoders are precise and robust, and available in three different housing materials - aluminium, die-cast or plastic - depending on application requirements. Both open and closed systems are supplied in various hollow and solid shaft types. Optional encapsulation of the electronics in the closed systems permit usage of oil baths, for example (this is standard for open types).
The incremental encoder, type IV58M, has a 58 mm servo or clamping flange with solid shafts up to 10 mm in diameter. The IH58M is torque supported with a through hollow shaft of up to 22 mm in diameter. Both types operate at up to 1280 pulses/revolution.
For rough environments, like mining and metal applications, the IG07M in die cast zinc housing, features a high axial and radial load capacity of the shaft, PP and LD24 output circuits, through hollow shaft diameters of up to 20 mm and a resolution of a max 1280 pulses/rev. The slim-line rotary encoder is a plastic housing, type IG09M for applications requiring a small installation depth.
