The LG GM4 rack-mounted PLC has steadily been making ground against well-established opposition equipment, offering excellent price/performance value, says Ana-Digi Systems.
The CPU upgrade now offers full floating point mathematics, and the processor speed has been doubled. This combination affords a significant increase in processing speed, for example, the time for conversion of a BCD value to double integer is down from 274 to 39 µs. The programme memory capacity has also been upgraded from 128 to 256 kB.
This new performance raises the PLC to among the highest level of processing power in its class. This combined with the LG open protocol ability, enabling the equipment (as with all LG PLCs) to communicate with other makes of PLC, inverter or instrumentation, provides the customer with premium equipment and good value for money. (LG also has the policy of issuing programming software free of charge.)
