Safety controller for mobile vehicles

ifm electronic’s latest R360 mobile controller is designed for safety-related applications up to category 3/Pl d to EN ISO 13849-1 and SIL 2 to EN 62061. The safety concept of the controller monitors all internal and external functions and switches off reliably in the case of an error. Implemented test routines monitor the hardware and software and the devices are easy and convenient to program via CoDeSys. The certified device hardware, the operating system software and the programming tools simplify safety related approvals.

The inputs and outputs can be configured to suit the respective application. Analogue, digital and frequency ports are available as safety related inputs and outputs. Furthermore, fail-safe inductive sensors and safety switches can be connected directly to the controller. The safe and non-safe outputs can be set as either digital or PWM.

In addition to the CANopen profile, CANsafety (DS 304) allows the safe data transmission between bus participants on the same bus cable in parallel to normal communication. The data is processed via two integrated CAN interfaces.
