Gimatic’s modular design philosophy
May 2021
Motion Control & Drives
Gimatic’s new vacuum range not only offers a comprehensive, high quality, light, simple and compact solution, but it comes in at a price point that is up to 35% lower than other leading brands, allowing OEMs to be more competitive without compromising on performance.
Gimatic’s design philosophy of total modularity has seamlessly been carried through to its vacuum range. All vacuum pumps, cartridges, suspensions, suction cups and accessories have been designed to combine with a range of mounting elements and extrusions, to blend perfectly with the full end of arm tooling ranges and also to facilitate a wide range of mounting options for machine builders and those modifying existing installations using Gimatic’s off-the-shelf mounting elements. This modularity also goes a long way to cut installation and assembly costs. Mounting elements no longer need to be machined specially, they can now just be ordered. Gimatic also offers 3D printing, 3D machining and laser cutting services for custom parts. Once a custom part has been made it is assigned a part number and can easily be ordered again.
CAD models are available for download from the website for all vacuum and EOAT products, which reduces design costs and development time. Gimatic is one of the only end-of-arm tooling companies that can offer a complete solution from vacuum to mechatronics, plastics to handling and sensors to mounting elements.
