Pressure Measurement & Control

New rugged and compact pressure transmitters

March 2000 Pressure Measurement & Control

The rugged and compact pressure transmitters in the D80 and D90 Series from Vega Instruments are protected against humidity and condensation.

The new and evolutionary single chamber housing with minimum housing volume has a variety of other constructive refinements: electronics and measuring cells are protected against the termination room by a high density stopper with O-ring sealing. Pressure compensation is carried out via a 3-way PTFE filter system, enabling the instruments to breathe without drawing in moist air.

These features allow applications in humid areas and grant a reliable performance in all process conditions. Due to this outstanding concept, virtually all problems during mounting, installation and test running can be eliminated. Water will not penetrate into the electronics or the measuring cell during high pressure hose cleaning operations.

The parameter adjustment for the D80/D90 pressure transmitters can be carried out locally or from the control room via a laptop. VVO provides useful features such as unpressurised dry adjustment in different engineering units, simulation and comprehensive diagnostic routines. The D90 Series is provided with an integral Profibus PA interface.

Due to the variety of process connections, applications in the paper industry, food processing industry, pharmaceutical, chemical, petrochemical and water/wastewater industry can be realised.

The measuring ranges of Series D80/D90 cover the ranges from 0 to 10 and 0 to 6000 kPa and accuracy classes 0,25 and 0,1.

Approvals to European standards means that the instruments are also suitable for use in hazardous areas and for applications with specific hygienic requirements.
