The R360 is ifm electronic’s newest mobile controller for safety-related applications in mobile vehicles. All internal and external functions are reliably monitored and in the case of an error, are switched off. Implemented test routines monitor the hardware and software and the devices are easy and convenient to program via CoDeSys. The certified device hardware, the operating system software and the programming tools simplify the safety-related approval of the machine.
Inputs and outputs can be configured to the respective applications. Analogue, digital and frequency ports are available as safety-related inputs and outputs. Furthermore, fail-safe inductive sensors and safety switches can be directly connected to the safety controller. The safe and non-safe outputs can be set as digital and PWM outputs.
In addition to the CANopen profile, CANsafety (DS 304) allows the safe data transmission between bus participants on the same bus cable in parallel to ‘normal’ communication.
