Emerson's portable vibration monitor

Bring the powerful predictive capabilities of a permanently installed multichannel online monitoring system to short-duration, portable applications.

Emerson’s new CSI 2600 Machinery Health Expert delivers the portability of the two-channel CSI 2130 Machinery Health Analyser and the advanced predictive and continuous monitoring capabilities of the permanently-installed, multichannel CSI 6500 Machinery Health Monitor. The CSI 2600 continuously monitors, records, and analyses machinery information for over 100 hours across all 24 channels without the significant cost and commitment of a hardwired solution.

“The CSI 2600 delivers the answer to user requests for a powerful, yet portable online monitoring solution,” said Brian Humes, vice president and general manager for Emerson’s machinery health management business. “By leveraging Emerson’s leading predictive online monitoring capabilities and advanced analysis capabilities, users can target their maintenance on strategic areas of the plant to operate more effectively.”

Online monitoring of key machinery provides real-time information that enables users to track and diagnose issues, avoid unexpected downtime, and determine the best time for maintenance. Monitoring continuous data on troubled rolling element and sleeve bearing machines enables reliability analysts to capture intermittent problems. The instrument utilises PeakVue technology to identify developing bearing and gear faults in advance of damaging the machine. Vibration analysts can capture start-up or coast-down data for a turbine generator or turbo compressor using proven transient capabilities.

Integration of the CSI 2600 with AMS Suite predictive maintenance software allows users to perform advanced analysis of vibration diagnostics. With AMS Suite, users can configure and control the monitor from the control room via LAN or by connecting directly via laptop in the field.

Flexibility is also provided for sensor connectivity. Users can connect through traditional BNC connectors, or with blunt cut wires attached to sensor termination screws, eliminating the need to carry adaptors in the field.
