Bartec's new Ex mobile computers

Computer technologies like mobile data acquisition and processing, which are standard in non-hazardous areas, are increasingly being employed in hazardous Ex environments. Modern data terminals such as the Bartec MC 9090ex are used in conjunction with a barcode scanner to control the flow of materials in warehouses, manage recipes in production and conduct examinations in plants. Wireless data exchange facilitates direct communication with product planning systems.

The MC 9090ex mobile computer offers robust construction that easily withstands harsh ambient conditions, while the conveniently placed scan trigger and ergonomic design permit single-handed operation. Six different keyboard versions allow for multiple applications and the easy-to-read ¼ VGA colour display with touch screen technology provides optimum ease for the user. Integrated WLAN enables real-time data exchange with a host system anywhere, anytime.

The high-performance handheld mobile computers combine the advantages of the Windows mobile 2005 operating system with the strengths of the 625 MHz Intel XScaleTM PXA270 microprocessor and optimised energy management for acquiring data (bar code and DPM scanning) in demanding conditions in the field.

The MC 9090ex-G version comes with a pistol grip and a long-range scan engine (up to 10 m). The MC 9090ex-K has a normal grip and is equipped with standard-range scan engine or a 2D imager.
