With a new drive amplifier, the modular positioning controllers in Phoenix Contact's Inline product series enable cost-effective solutions for numerous positioning applications: The IB IL DC/AR and IB IL POS 200 offer cost and handling advantages - particularly for automating less dynamic axes with reduction gears - format adjusters, for example.
The modular design of the point-to-point positioning controller enables economical configuration of any number of axes without the overheads associated with multichannel controllers. Frequently, the positioning controllers, amplifiers and motors provided for simple movement controls such as positioning transport facilities (conveyor belts, cranes, chain and suspended conveyors), format adjusters (setting limit stops, guides and rollers) and tools (spindles, saw blades, cutting and bending tools) are higher performance and hence too expensive. With the new drive amplifiers for DC brush motors, the modular positioning controllers offer cost-effective solutions that are tailored to these kinds of tasks. In addition, the modules can be distributed to the machines, as the positioning controllers and drive amplifiers can be sited close to the axes. This means that the user additionally saves on cabling costs.
