I cannot believe the time, where is it going ... Is it happening to everybody or just me? I have heard lots of people saying that they do not have time for this and they do not have time for that ... Why not? When I was a kid, yes many years ago, I remember wishing the time away: I cannot wait till I am 16 then I can get my motorbike learners; I cannot wait till I am 18 then I can see movies like 'Flashdance'; etc.
How times have changed … now I wish for more hours in a day! More hours in a week, OK, in the weekend. I think it is important for everybody to sometimes just stop, take some time for themselves and especially their families. I promise you that the economy will not come to a standstill if you take a day or two off every now and then.
Anyway, back to the real world ... The 'away' meeting at WITS was a great success! Members, students, professors, press, vendors and users, they were all there and we had great numbers again with more than 35 people in attendance. We are going from strength to strength at the Johannesburg branch and if you have not attended a meeting this year you are really missing out! Come on; make an effort to come to our July meeting on the 11th at the Rivonia Club. This is going to be another 'cracker' meeting. We have Jonathan Lee, manager of procurement & contracts at Fluor, presenting part 2 of 'How to win tenders'. Jonathan will be showing us what happens after Bill has made his technical evaluation.
The JHB committee looks forward to hosting you on 11 July 2007 at 18h00 at the Rivonia Recreational Club.
One last thought - Go Springboks! We have the Super 14 Cup in SA. Now bring us the Tri-Nations cup, please.
