The PCL-752 from ProMicro is an intelligent PC system-monitoring card that is able to detect abnormal system operations and generate alarm outputs, allowing the user to take action before system failure. When using the PCL-752, an industrial PC can be changed into an intelligent self-diagnostic PC, increasing PC reliability for critical applications such as communications and telephony.
The card can detect a wide variety of internal system conditions including internal temperature, voltage, fan operation, power supply status and system CPU operation. It can generate several different alarm outputs such as acoustic signal, system reset, relay output and message generation, depending on the alarm level or user set-up. An on-board CPU allows the user to independently set the alarm of each sensory input and to program different alarm outputs.
A built-in watchdog timer is included, and digital input lines are isolated up to 2000 V d.c. and an on-board battery back-up allows alarm functions to be performed even under total system power failure. The serial port can be configured either as an RS485 or as an RS232 port. The user can remotely monitor a number of computers through a host computer's serial port.
