Self-cleaning dissolved oxygen system

The new membrane dissolved oxygen (D.O.) system from Great Lakes Instruments incorporates a sensor with a simple rechargeable cartridge membrane assembly, an air-blast self-cleaning system and an analyser which simultaneously displays and provides a 4-20 mA output signal for both D.O. and temperature. This new system cuts maintenance costs and thereby (significantly) lowers cost of ownership.

The sensor has a rugged (50 thick) hydrophobic membrane that withstands the harsh environments found in wastewater treatment plants. By using three electrodes (instead of two) it generates a stronger measuring signal with greater accuracy and enables a punctured membrane or depleted electrolyte to be diagnosed. The optional self-cleaning system greatly reduces membrane cleaning and maintenance. The analyser displays D.O. in ppm or % saturation together with other system information. The software includes predictive and reactive diagnostics to assist operators and provides seven calibration methods to suit specific application requirements.

Handrail or flotation mounting hardware is available to swing the sensor out of the process for routine maintenance.
