Adroit Technologies now offers a LonWorks driver for its Adroit scada/HMI package. Supporting both standard network variable type (SNVTs) and user-definable network variable type (UNVTs), the driver offers a high performance scada/HMI solution for LonWorks network installations for the first time.
The Adroit driver provides monitoring and/or control of LonWorks network variables (NVs) within LNS databases constructed with any standard LonWorks binding tool, and does not suffer from limitations imposed by traditional data transfer technologies such as DDE. For UNVTs - it is possible to have a large number of elemental data items packed into the same NV, without the need to resort to cumbersome format strings. In addition, basic standard network management functions such as test node, replace node, etc are also fully supported.
The new driver has already won business for Adroit in applications where the performance of traditional DDE-reliant scada systems was not satisfactory.
