Two models of the GLI flow monitor/totaliser, available from PREI Instrumentation, can simultaneously accept inputs from up to four flow sensors and provide the flow rate and totalised flow for each sensor. They have two 0/4-20 mA outputs, RS232 output and optional Hart communication capability. There are also four SPDT relays which can be user-configured independently for alarm or control functions.
Six-bladed impeller flow sensors are also available to monitor the flow in pipes with diameters ranging from 12 to 100 mm. These sensors use a nonmagnetic sensing technique which does not attract metal particles. The design of the impeller ensures an accuracy within 1% for velocities from 9 m/s down to 0,3 m/s. The pulsed output from the impeller has high noise immunity and can be transmitted up to 600 m without amplification.
These flow sensors are ideally suited for water treatment systems and especially for applications in reverse osmosis filtration systems.
