LEDs simplify bus diagnostics

As technology becomes more complex and more widespread, the ability to diagnose, service and maintain equipment becomes even more critical. In line with its 'rationik' philosophy, Murrelektronik (represented locally by Retron) has now developed a new bus system component that will make it much easier to pinpoint any failure.

The new MVK distribution box has LED indicators at all eight ports. This reduces troubleshooting up to 87,5%. In instances of cable failure, maintenance personnel know immediately which conductor is affected by observing the LEDs. Line breaks, short circuits, as well as defective sensors and actuators, can quickly be identified and replaced. Fault finding without additional equipment is now possible, while production continues, uninterrupted.

A professional technician may not even be necessary, as the LED always pinpoints the problem - simply and quickly. The diagnostic data can be easily transmitted to a PLC display. There is also the option to perform remote maintenance checks. This reduces dead time and guarantees high availability of machinery. VK can easily be mounted directly in a harsh machine environment. This is made possible by making use of the pre-wired and tested cables of different lengths for power supply and bus connection.

The MVK product line caters for Profibus, Interbus, CANopen and DeviceNet in the D18, D08 and D14 D04 versions, as well as the DESINA module available with free configuring plug sockets.
