The 'Gaswatch' is claimed to be the first gas monitor that can be worn on the wrist like a normal watch. It can be used to detect either one or two gases in several combinations. It is equipped with a wrist strap which can be worn either on the wrist or on a belt. An optional clip is also available.
Available from AFH Devers, the Gaswatch will operate for up to 700 h on one set of batteries; it incorporates audible and visual alarms, a digital readout to display PEAK, TWA and STEL readings. The sensors are inexpensive, easy to replace and have a life expectancy of more than two years.
Five options are available, to measure CO/O2, H2S/O2, CO, H2S, or O2. The detection principle is by electrochemical cell for CO, H2S, and galvanic cell for O2. Features include backlit indication, a sensor-fail alarm, PEAK hold function, TWA and STEEL functions. It is CE approved, water resistant and intrinsically safe - and it also tells the time.
