Endress+Hauser Pyrotemp has appointed Ben White as its new general manager following the decision by predecessor, Chris Gimson, to take up semi-retirement and the challenging role as training manager at the Endress+Hauser sales centre.
Ben White, general manager, Endress+Hauser Pyrotemp
White began his instrumentation career in 1988 and in 1994 founded STS Instrumentation. After STS was acquired in 2003, he joined Endress+Hauser South Africa as product manager for the temperature portfolio and was tasked to grow the business, specifically in the engineered solutions field.
He moved to Germany in 2006 to work for the Endress+Hauser global competence centre for temperature where he was responsible for temperature products mainly for the oil & gas and chemical industries. He played an instrumental role in providing temperature measurement solutions for Shell’s hydrocracking and hydrodesulphurisation reactors, which influenced Shell to appoint Endress+Hauser as preferred vendor for field instrumentation globally.
