Scott/Bacharach, represented locally by MeasureTech, a Tyco International company, has a unique pump station gas detection system within its sizeable array of products.
In sewage pumping/lift stations, build up of methane, hydrogen sulphide and other gasses that displace oxygen can pose severe risk to both personnel and property. The Scott/Bacharach system comprises of a four-channel receiver and three to four individual gas transmitters. The receiver provides a common 3-digit display of gas concentration, which can scan through all measured channels or can be locked onto an individual channel. Individual channel LED indications of low, high and fail alarms are simply programmed and common relays enable remote annunciation of alarm, power loss and the unlikely event of transmitter failure.
The explosion-proof transmitters display the gas concentration and also provide a 4-20 mA signal back to the receiver. All transmitter parameter adjustments are done non-intrusively and the system is equipped with local inhibit ensuring true single-operator calibration.
Pinless 'pop-in' sensor connection on oxygen and hydrogen sulphide transmitters, self-diagnostics feature for loop failure and sensor life expenditure are all standard features on this UL approved monitoring system.
This versatile system is part of a range of fixed toxic and combustible gas detection systems, as well as flame detection, paper tape detectors and portable products for measurement of almost every source of gas leakage.
