Moxa’s AWK-1121 series is an IEEE 802.11 a/b/g WLAN client that offers rugged wireless operation for the industrial networking world. Optimised for applications requiring a dedicated wireless client, the AWK-1121 is specially designed to cater space constrained, mission critical demands. With Turbo Roaming to give under 100 ms handoffs, redundant power inputs and models that operate in temperatures ranging from -40 to 75°C, the series promises users the highest level of reliability and availability for wireless communications. Further, all of this is packaged in an extra slim casing, rated IP30 for a sturdy, natural fit in any industrial application with limited space.
Small, light and rugged
The AWK-1121 is designed for harsh industrial environments, with standard models staying operable in temperatures ranging from 0° to 60°C and extended temperature models that keep working from -40° to 75°C. In addition, the AWK-1121 may be mounted either by DIN rail or on walls, the range sports dual 12 to 48 VDC power inputs, Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) for PoE models and an IP30 case with LED indicators. The rugged design is also compact and light for applications where space is limited and a robust, dedicated client is required.
WLAN client optimised performance
The convenience of being able to connect devices without the use of wires has led to the unprecedented success of wireless technologies in the commercial sector; these same technologies are now making a headstrong move into industrial environments. The new Moxa WLAN client provides all key wireless benefits like mobility, flexibility, wider coverage and economic savings, and is specifically designed for hard to wire, tightly spaced applications. Roaming handoffs for the AWK-1121 are benchmarked at 100 ms or less, meaning connectivity gaps are effectively eliminated for latency sensitive applications like automatic guided vehicles (AGV) in factory automation systems, or like those often found in intelligent transportation systems (ITS). With this unique collection of innovative features, the AWK-1121 is extremely simple to set up and secure, providing users with flexibility, convenience, economy and efficiency.
