Lightning-current surge arresters

Electrical Power & Protection
DEHN’s DEHNventil M range of combined lightning-current surge arresters feature a modular design for ease of installation. This means that it is easy to assemble and exchange the modules using a simple module release button. The family includes a range of units for TT, TN, TN-C and TN-S wiring configurations.
DEHNventil Type 1 SPD is available in various configurations for single phase or three phase systems. The all in one modules are prewired and consist of a base part and plug-in protection modules. The multipole arresters are designed for protecting low voltage installations and terminal devices against surges, even during direct lightning strikes. The operating state/fault is indicated by a mechanical flag in the inspection window and monitoring of the neutral module is possible, a requirement for maintenance purposes.
Maximum system availability is provided by the RADAX Flow follow on current limitation. The devices have a discharge capacity up to 100 kA (10/350 μs) and there is no tripping of 32 A gL/gG fuses up to short circuit currents of 50 kA rms.
By using encapsulated creepage discharge spark gaps combined with a compact design, DEHNventil M units are ideal for use in switchgear installations and distribution boards. The surge arresters can be connected in series up to nominal currents of 125 A as per IEC 60364-5-53. DEHNventil is fully coordinated with other DEHN units from Type 1 to Type 3 SPD and is suitable for use at lightning zone boundaries 0-2.
