The Smart colorimeter from LaMotte, is specially designed for the analysis of a variety of water quality parameters. Up to 74 tests, 40 preprogrammed and 34 user-selectable are available in the unit's memory, and all optical filters are included and are automatically selected.

The portable photometer has a simple menu driven operation, alphabetical test selection and self-diagnostics with error/warning messages. It provides instant readiness which is achieved by active stabilisation of the lamp intensity, user selected test sequences, auto-zero and auto-off functions.

A six wavelength filter wheel and motor automatically prepare the optical system for all tests, and easy to use reagent systems complement the colorimeter. Tests and function are selected from scrolling menus for simplicity, and results are displayed in concentration (ppm) %T, or absorbance. An RS232 port is installed for computer interfacing and an arc adapter and rechargeable NiCd batteries are included.

The Smart colorimeter may be interfaced with any DOS or Windows-based computer program by using LaMotte's SMART-Link program and interface cable. The program stores customer information in a database and records test data to an ASCII delimited file. It can also be used to download data stored in the colorimeter datalogger and to control the colorimeter.
