Swiss-based Büchi has upgraded its 20 litre Rotavapor rotary evaporation unit to incorporate the latest technology in line with its philosophy: ‘easy handling is a key factor for safe operation’.
The new Rotavapor R-220 SE was developed for universal application, typically in scale-up from laboratory to production processes. Some of the design changes include patented flask fixation and an EasyClamp to enable fast and safe installation and removal of glass parts. The large clearly arranged design of the control panels reduces the risk of operating errors, while an optional shield protects the instrument in rough environments.
Many new features and tools enable Rotavapor for the future:
* A USB module enables users to record process data to a memory stick.
* A level sensor prevents overfilling of the receiving flask.
* USB and RS485 interfaces provide control of system components and integration of a vacuum pump or recirculation cooler.
The display incorporates high-contrast digits to indicate bath, vapour and cooling temperature as well as rotation speed, clearly visible even from a distance. An integrated vacuum controller guarantees reproducible and stable conditions and the wide choice of glass configurations enables adaptation of the instrument to suit the application.
