Automatic shakers for micro-sieving

July 2011 Analytical Instrumentation & Environmental Monitoring

Fritsch has introduced an innovative and practical range of sieve shakers for laboratory work, size separation, quality control and monitoring for various sample quantities, sizes and textures.

The Analysette 3 Pro and Spartan units are ideal for determining quantitative particle size by sieving, a tried and trusted method. Particle size distributions of all kinds of solid samples and suspensions can be measured via dry and wet testing. The modular design of the Analysette 3 allows for easy conversion to a vibratory micro-mill for milling and homogenising small amounts of sample material.

Analysette 18 is Fritsch’s heavy duty analytical sieve shaker for large sample quantities. It is primarily used for particle size analysis and grading of coarse-grained materials. The maximum sample quantity of 6 kg, for sieving material and sieve stack, means it can also be used in pilot plant production or in test series for larger quantities. It is used wherever manual sieving is replaced by mechanical in order to lower costs or achieve greater reproducibility.

Typical Analysette 18 applications are road construction laboratories, production control in quarries and stone crushing plants, gravel and sand pits, loading stations for ore and coal, processing units in limestone plants, the cement industry, steel plants and foundries.
