Combined surge arrestors

May 2011 Electrical Power & Protection

Dehn’s DEHNventil M TT 2P modules are multipole combined lightning current and surge arresters providing an all-in-one solution for protecting single-phase TT and TNCS systems against surges. The combined Class I lightning current and Class 2 over-voltage surge arresters require only 30% of the space of similar devices since no de-coupling coils are necessary between the Class I and Class 2 arresters.

A simple catch mechanism secures the modules allowing them to be easily installed and replaced. Providing maximum system availability, the devices are ideally suited for a variety of power supply applications. The discharge capability meets protection level 1 in accordance with EN 61643-11 and the use of encapsulated spark gap technology reduces safety distances to adjacent components within the distribution cabinet.

All DEHNventil devices have an additional earth terminal to allow connection to the main earth rail. Indication is provided by means of green and red mechanical flags or, if required, units can be ordered with remote monitoring terminals.
