40 W DC-DC converter

July 2010 Electrical Power & Protection

Mean Well has introduced a new 40 W single output regulated converter. The 50x50 mm SKA40 series caters to the increased demand for miniature, high wattage module type DC-DC converters. With dual-in-line packaging, these converters are designed to comply with the standard pin assignment in the market. Features include 2:1 input supply range, 1500 VDC input/output isolation, short circuit, overload, over voltage protections, low ripple noise and remote on/off control.

Up to date circuit design gives efficiency as high as 92%, allowing full load operation by free air convection cooling from -40 to +60°C. The low profile enclosure design provides system designers with great flexibility on the PCB. Fully encapsulated packaging can help the SKA40 withstand the influence of dust and moisture in harsh environments, making it suitable for industrial control, telecommunications and distributed power applications. 3,3 and 9 volt modules are available.
