Foundation Fieldbus course

April 2010 Analytical Instrumentation & Environmental Monitoring

This seminar-based one-day course is designed to provide the student with a good understanding of Foundation Fieldbus including the economic reasons for selecting digital communications technology in the facility. The course introduces the physical layer, the various methods for powering the bus and FF communications (macro-cycles, function blocks) and the basic elements of segment design. The concepts used will be based on best practices from Green Field facilities around the world and the associated life cycle impact of fieldbus on engineering (including documentation and workflow), start-up and commissioning, and operational excellence asset management.

Presenter: Ian Verhappen, internationally acknowledged expert in Foundation Fieldbus technology.

Date: 10 and 11 May – Bryanston Country Club, Johannesburg; 13 May – Casia@Nitida Wine Estate, Cape Town.

Time: 08h30 for 09h00 to 17h00.
