Dust monitor for emission control

Durag’s new D-R 800 reflection dust monitor is an innovative measuring device based on laser technology. The D-R 800 is especially applicable for measurements of small to medium dust emissions in industrial plants according to the latest European regulations.

The unit applies the principle of forward scattering. The concentrated light from a laser diode is emitted into the measurement zone, scattered light, largely reflected off dust particles, is then measured and assessed.

The measuring principle of the D-R 800 provides good reliability since velocity and electrical charge of the dust particles do not have any influence. The D-R 800 is therefore well suited in monitoring applications for all types of filter systems. The D-R 800 is easy to install on one side of the duct and has a long lifetime as there are no moving parts. Even thick stack walls present no problems for installation because only one 70 mm diameter hole is needed for flange mounting.

Parameterisation and operation is via the keyboard with an easily readable display directly on the device. A bus interface is provided as an alternative. D-R 800’s hermetically sealed electronic housing eliminates exhaust gas and it meets laser protection Class 11.
