Non-isolated DC/DC converter

The majority of DC/DC converters used in the industrial field belong to the ‘Input/Output isolated’ category and MeanWell have already introduced enclosed type (15~1000 W), PCB type (5~15 W), module type (0.5~30 W), and on-board type (5~15 W) – four families for a multitude of applications. In order to cater for the demands of the low cost and size constrained market segments, Mean Well has launched a new single output ‘Input/Output non-isolated’ DC-DC converter – NID30(30 W) and NID60(60 W) series. These regulated converters have standard single in line (SIP) package pin configuration and are vertically mounted on a system PCB.

Using bulk topology with synchronised rectifying technology, NID30/60 achieves up to 97% of efficiency and high power density requiring only free air convection cooling. Their miniature design makes them suitable for size applications where PCB space is at a premium. Input DC voltage range is 20-53 V with output voltages of 5, 12, 15 and 24 V available. Other features include low ripple noise and protection for short circuit, overload and over voltage conditions. Distributed power architecture, communication and industrial control are all applications for the economical NID30 and NID60 series.
