Advantech’s EKI-1351 and EKI-1352 wireless serial device servers are WLAN-enabled devices that combine rugged, compact and fast one or two RS232/422/485 ports with support for the new 802.11b, and 802.11g protocols. They provide more reliable communications for wireless communications. Each communications port features high-speed throughput up to 1,2 Mbps with 921 kbaud technology, fulfilling high data transmission needs. The serial device servers have built-in dual-power inputs (12–48 V d.c.) with one power fail relay to detect operational status and to ensure the device works normally.

EKI-1351 and EKI-1352 combine a range of operations to fulfil advanced customer needs. For example, TCP server/client and UDP mode allow simultaneous connection with up to five hosts through the RS232/422/485 serial ports for advanced data transmission and communication, such as broadcast and polling operations. In broadcast mode, EKI serial device servers handle a command from one application and respond to all applications connected to the associated serial port. In polling mode, the device servers handle the commands from one application and reply to this application only. Queries from other applications are queued until the current process is complete.
