Analytical Instrumentation & Environmental Monitoring

YSI multiprobe system

April 2009 Analytical Instrumentation & Environmental Monitoring

Featuring a waterproof, impact-resistant case, the YSI 556 MPS simultaneously measures dissolved oxygen, pH, conductivity, temperature and ORP. The instrument is rugged and reliable combining the versatility of an easy-to-use, easy-to-read handheld unit with all the functionality of a multiparameter system. A simple cellular phone style keypad, user interface, and large display allow easy use, and the unit is compatible with YSI EcoWatch for Windows software.

The YSI 556 MPS conforms to good laboratory practice (GLP) standards, ensuring quality control and quality assurance methods are followed. GLP is a set of rules, which covers the organisational procedure and the conditions under which measurements are planned, carried out, monitored and recovered. More than 50 000 data sets can be stored in memory.

Battery life is displayed with a fuel gauge, and the user can choose standard alkaline batteries or an optional rechargeable battery pack. Options include a flow cell and barometer. The internal barometer can be user-calibrated and displayed along with other data, used in dissolved oxygen calibrations, and logged to memory for tracking changes in barometric pressure.

Other features include:

* Field replaceable DO electrode module, pH and pH\ORP.

* Screw-on cap membrane.

* 4 to 20 m cable lengths.

* 3-year instrument warranty.

* Waterproof case to IP67 specification.

Every instrument comes with a soft-sided carrying case with enough space for the YSI 556 MPS, a 20 m cable, and calibration supplies.
