Registered Adroit system integrator Calculus System Projects of Randburg, Gauteng, has joined the Production Information Technologies (PIT) Group in a move to focus on improving productivity and efficiency of companies in the production and manufacturing industries.
"With almost twenty years of experience in providing solutions to production processes for measurement, automation and packaging, we have become a strong contender in the local arena with a growing export market," says Calculus MD Jan Jooste. The PIT Group was established to provide a diverse selection of solutions, including the SPM range of machine condition monitoring products from Sweden.
"Our product range has been further complemented by the release of the modular U-CON 2000 microprocessor controller, which was developed by our associate company Technopark Automation and Control, with support from the Department of Trade and the Industrial Development Corporation," says Jooste.
This unit - in conjunction with Adroit supervisory control and data acquisition applications - is particularly suited to raw materials batching and blending applications as a state-of-the-art plant interface.
"Our intention for the new millennium is to continue diversifying further into industrial IT, in order to achieve sustained growth," reports Jooste, adding that the company already holds a substantial share of the local raw materials and proportioning markets.
