Agogo Integrated West Hub Project: FPSO/subsea offshore Angola
September 2025System Integration & Control Systems Design
Moore Process Controls integrated existing brownfield assets with newly developed fields for the Agogo Integrated West Hub project. This project represents a historic milestone in the FPSO and subsea industry, achieving first oil offshore of Angola. This project is the first FPSO deployment since ANPG’s establishment in 2019, and the first major project for Azule Energy since 2022.
Project outcome
Fast-tracked in just 29 months, the Agogo Hub is set to deliver up to 175 000 barrels of oil per day, positioning Angola for a stronger, more sustainable energy future.
Biggest challenge & solution
The primary challenge was integrating existing brownfield assets with newly developed fields, each using different generations of equipment, under an ambitious fast-track schedule. The team overcame this by deploying a hybrid software solution that unified the diverse systems into a single, reliable operating environment, maintaining both speed and operational stability.
Key technologies & tools
Execution spanned multiple continents, including software development and cabinet builds in South Africa, eFAT in the UK, yard commissioning in Dubai and China, and final offshore commissioning in Angola. This global workflow minimised delays and de-risked integration, ensuring a smooth handover.
One thing we’d do differently
The execution model proved highly effective, but future projects could further benefit from building on this strong foundation to strengthen the team’s experience in fast-track deliveries of complex systems.
Unique selling point
A highly adaptable, globally coordinated team, capable of delivering complex, fast-track projects that seamlessly integrate diverse systems.
Why integration defines the next competitive edge in pulp and paper
System Integration & Control Systems Design
ABB’s Arvin Ramjee argues that fragmented automation, assembled from different suppliers at different stages of a plant’s lifecycle has become one of the pulp and paper industry’s most overlooked commercial risks, and that true integration, rather than surface-level connectivity, is what delivers measurable business value.
