Analytical Instrumentation & Environmental Monitoring

Combustion control

January 2009 Analytical Instrumentation & Environmental Monitoring

Optimum combustion reduces fuel bills and limits greenhouse gas emissions.

The high cost of fuel has helped to reduce the payback period for oxygen monitoring and air or fuel ratio control to the point that it now makes sense to consider the benefits of combustion monitoring.

Novatech’s 1732 Oxygen Transmitter is suitable for gaseous oxygen measurements in a variety of processes:

* In boilers it is designed for power generation, package and black liquid recovery.

* In kilns and furnaces it is suited for measurements of rotary lime, cement, glass, ceramic and brick.

* In the iron and steel industry it is suitable for heating furnaces, coke ovens and soaking pits.

* In aluminium it is used for pot lines and holding furnaces.

* In incinerators it is used for PVC, medical and toxic waste.

This is the sixth generation of zirconia oxygen transmitters designed and manufactured by Novatech Controls since 1980. This oxygen measurement is based on the robust zirconia sensor developed in Australia by the CSIRO’s department of materials science, which Novatech holds the exclusive rights to manufacture.
