Ultrasonic sensor with 'teachable'spurious suppression

Ultrasonic sensors can be used to measure different objects practically independently of their colour and surface nature. In the past, if the measuring area was within a very confined space or stationary objects were present at the sides or front of the sensor, installation was more critical.

Baumer Electric's new ultrasonic sensor family, UDDK 30, with teach-in fading out of disturbing objects, makes installation and operation easy. The measuring area is lobar; the opening angle of the sound lobe is approximately 8º. Stationary objects in the measuring area between the sensor and the target can be taught in and therefore suppressed. This enables the user to detect an object, for example, through a grid or a narrow opening.
