SIE Sensorik of Germany has announced a new compact capacitive proximity sensor. The SK1-25-50/10-X-b-X sensor is 50 mm in diameter and only 10 mm high. This self-contained unit operates at 10-35 V d.c., the output is easily switchable from PNP/NPN, normally open or normally closed and has a LED indicator visible from 180°. This sensor has an adjustable sensing range from 2-25 mm, can be flush mounted and meets IP67 rating.
The two mounting holes integrated for easy attachment and universal cable allows installation flexibility. Designed for limited space application, this sensor can detect all materials such as plastics, glass, ceramics, metal, wood, etc. The large active surface of this sensor allows for a variety of level sensing through plastic or sight-glass walls.
