Moxa has announced the release of its first IP camera to complete the company’s industrial video networking solution family. The new VPort 25 is a high-performance IP camera with a maximum resolution of 520 TVL and suitable for day-and-night. Keeping rugged value in mind, the VPort 25 features a vandal-proof design, IP66 protection, PoE power redundancy, and wide temperature tolerance from -40 to 50°C. These features make it reliable and suitable for any outdoor industrial video networking application, such as the surveillance of buildings, oil refineries, city traffic, parking areas and airports.
Designed for the outdoors
With its IP66 rating, Moxa’s VPort 25 is engineered to withstand rigorous outdoor use and the damaging effects of dirt and water. In addition, the VPort 25 IP camera is resistant to extreme temperature ranges (-40 to 50°C), making it ideal for all weather conditions. The vandal-proof aluminium construction prevents damage from unexpected external forces, and the no-heater/fanless design promises industrial-grade reliability and extended operation life. The VPort 25 also comes with Power-over-Ethernet capabilities for power redundancy, providing users with maximum installation flexibility and greater cost-savings.
Demanding monitoring applications
The camera features both MJPEG and MPEG4 video compression, two-way audio, and streaming video up to 30 FPS at full D1 (720 x 480) resolution. In addition, the VPort 25 supports intelligent case-open sensor alarms, motion detection, schedule recording, and event triggered alarms. To meet 24-hour monitoring needs, the VPort 25’s automatic day-and-night CCD camera ensures optimal video quality even in low light conditions.

IT in Manufacturing
The maritime industry is moving through one of the most important transformations in its history. Ships that once operated as collections of independent systems are now evolving into integrated digital ecosystems, where navigation, monitoring and control systems must exchange a constant flow of data. At the heart of this transformation lies the IEC 61162 family of standards.
