Mettler Toledo’s THORNTON 770MAX multiparameter analyser combined with patented Smart Sensor technology, allows for on-line analytical measurements of power plant samples, making it an ideal instrument for successful boiler water chemistry management.
The unit’s convenient menu driven operation and compact design allows for use with up to four analytical sensors to perform reliable temperature, conductivity, dissolved oxygen and pH. All parameters can be displayed and sent to analog or serial digital outputs for local or remote data acquisition.
The 770MAX’s flexibility in the choice of parameters is complemented by an array of sensors designed specifically for high purity measurements of steam and water samples. THORNTON Smart Sensors contain a non-volatile memory chip (NVRAM) embedded in the electronic circuitry which stores identification and calibration information specific to that sensor. The high performance dissolved oxygen sensor can withstand very hot samples and uses a simple, low-cost, drop-in membrane cartridge that minimises maintenance time and expense. The compact pHure sensor provides accurate pH measurements in low conductivity samples without cumbersome electrolyte reservoirs or other refilling requirements. Conductivity sensors are provided with individually certified ASTM and NIST traceability.
The ease of operation and reliability of the measuring system assists technicians in maintaining the accurate water chemistry requirements encountered in modern power plants.
