Land Instruments’ Lancom III is a compact, portable, combustion and emissions analyser for checking or testing boiler systems and pollutant process. It has the capability to monitor up to nine different gases and 17 measurement parameters simultaneously.

According to Land the instrument offers the best accuracy available from a portable gas analyser, achieved through the use of an advanced sample conditioning system. It has the flexibility to meet all measurement requirements in a single instrument, users simply select the gas types and application options. The analyser can be upgraded in the field via remote communications as and when application requirements change, there is no need to return the instrument to the factory.

The unit has built-in data capture and storage capability, and comes equipped with a serial port for data download. The integral printer provides an instant record of measurement readings, while the ‘Wake and Sleep’ semi-continuous operation mode allows periodic unattended operation.

Advanced micro-sensor technology enables direct measurement of CO2 in flue gas. The combination of the CO2 sensor with the measurement capability offered by the flow probe allows quantitative measurement of greenhouse gas emissions.

With a robust industrial design for daily use in harsh plant environments, the unit weighs only 6 kg. Despite the compact size, on-board battery power allows up to eight hours of operation in the field.

Computational functionality allows instantaneous measurement of combustion efficiency, loss, excess air, CO2 levels, oxygen normalisation and automatic conversions of ppm, mg/m³, mmBtu and ng/J.

Insight, the dedicated data acquisition and analysis software, has been specifically designed for use with the analyser. It allows data capture, storage, analysis and presentation of measurement information, via an easy to use Windows-based program that runs on any PC or laptop computer.

Lancom III is supplied with GASS freeware for remote upgrade and diagnostics, a sample probe, built-in thermal printer, RS232 or RS422 serial communications interface and a carrying case.
