Revue Thommen is a manufacturer of air data systems and aircraft instruments used on aircraft types from helicopters to commercial airliners. A recent innovation introduces the AC32 digital air data computer (DADC) with a compact case for the aviation market. The device measures barometric altitude, airspeed and temperature using vibrating cylinder pressure sensors providing high accuracy and stability for both static and pitot ports. The AC32 DADC compact case allows easy installation and rack placement. The unit is also fully (Federal Aviation Authority) FAA compliant. Two configurable ARINC 429 transmitter and receiver channels are provided for the exchange of computed data parameters including barometric correction. The AC32 meets the multiple platform requirements for TAWS, ACAS/TCAS, EGPWS or FMS systems. It also supports the air data for enhanced safety infrastructure capabilities for transponders, encoded altitude output is available as an option. The input supply is designed for low power 28 V d.c. operation. Total power consumption is less than 7 W and total weight does not exceed 910 grams. This makes the system well suited to modern avionics applications. Built-in-test capability has been incorporated to ensure safe operation. Modular design and easy configuration have been implemented to ensure compatibility with existing architecture.
