Technosoft provides CANopen intelligence

Technosoft drives and motors now support the CANopen protocol, which has emerged as the dominant CAN solution for motion control applications due to its low cost per node, simple wiring and extensive support.

Motion control, drive and PLC functionalities have been embedded in compact units that cover many types of brushless DC linear or stepper motor applications. Besides CANopen DS301 and DS402 profiles, drives and motors can execute complex motion programs directly using the high-level Technosoft motion language (TML).

Compatibility with EasyMotion Studio allows quick configuration and motion programming at drive level. The new firmware supports the CANopen protocol for all products with CAN interface. Simple software configuration thus enables a CANopen version of a motor or driver to be configured.

In addition to the DS402 mode of operation, some Technosoft drives also offer other motion modes, like electronic camming and gearing.

Drives and motors can now be programmed to execute complex tasks autonomously and need only inform the master on task completion or exception. CANopen thus offers machine builders a way of shortening development times through adopting distributed control architecture.
