Formed as Welkom Industrial Controls in 1988, the business was registered as a proprietary limited company in 2000 in recognition of its growth.

The company is a product and service solution provider and is an innovative organisation engaged in the development, manufacture and marketing of process control instruments and systems. It takes a strong systems approach to projects and provides installation, maintenance and upgrade services on projects that range from the supply of a single instrument to full turnkey jobs. Independence in selection of solutions is simplified as it is not aligned to any single instrumentation supplier or manufacturer.

Welkom Industrial Controls' (WIC) product suite includes solutions for asset management, event logging, information analysis, asset depreciation, financial management and an array of communication solutions. To date, WIC has invested over R6m in its advanced asset management and tracking development. The company has also forged close links with clients and strategic partners. The latter include Alpret, Schneider, Vega, Temperature Controls, Ascoreg, Siemens, Futuristix and LaserM.

WIC has a strong service philosophy and it strives to continuously improve both its products and services.
