Analog insulation-continuity tester

Hellermann Tyton offers an insulation-continuity tester that employs a number of safety features to prevent faulty operation and risk to the operator. The Toptronic T1832 instrument has been designed with safety in mind, and complies with IEC 1010 safety standards. The leaflet provided with the tester is explicit and easy to follow.
Three ranges of 250, 500 and 1000 V are provided for insulation testing, and a choice of 500 or 3 Ohm for continuity testing. A push-and-turn locking switch can be operated for hands-free testing over a long period. Any residual charge in the circuit under test is automatically discharged immediately after the test. Indication is on a high quality taut band movement with mirror scale.
The instrument can also be used as a straight voltmeter with a range of 0-600 V a.c. AC measurement is automatically selected as soon as an AC voltage is detected on the test leads - the instrument will display the voltage on the linear scale. Both audible and visual warning is shown when voltages in excess of 24 V a.c. or d.c. are applied. The DC warning buzzer will beep continuously when the voltage is higher than 30 V d.c. and the test button is not pressed. The test lead resistance can also be allowed for by means of the zero-adjustment potentiometer on the front of the instrument.
The Toptronic T1832 is supplied in an attractive, yellow moulded carrying case, protected throughout by double insulation, and provided with internal storage space for test leads and spare batteries.
