Instrumentation and Control specialist Endress+Hauser has secured an order to supply 89 Promag 50 electromagnetic flowmeters to Mettalloys Meyerton's Westplant M12 furnace. Part of the Billiton Group, Mettalloys is an industry leader in the production of ferro manganese, with the Westplant furnace operating since 1978. The Promag 50 electromagnetic flowmeters will be used for cooling water flow circuits and to monitor equipment and roof panel cooling flows. The Endress+Hauser Promag 50 required no modification, and solves the problem of constant flow measurement with no false trips generated on a DCS system due to stable flow readings.
Endress+Hauser had previously supplied eight Promag 33 units on the same type of cooling circuits, which has proved itself with high temperature specifications, as well as a variety of other Endress+Hauser products including Levelflex microwave level measurement for noisy, dusty applications, Prosonic ultrasonic level measurement for less harsh conditions and Soliphants for high and low level switching.
The business relations with Mettalloys are excellent, and the company has been highly satisfied with the performance of the equipment previously supplied and the level of service provided by Endress+Hauser.
