Siemens TIA User Forum 2006

Distributor Conference at Emperors Palace - 24 October 2006

It is all systems go for the Siemens TIA User Forum. For the first time in three years, the distribution conference for electrical distributors will run separate from the User Forum. This will be a one-day event held on the second day of the TIA User Forum and attendees will have the opportunity to join the forum's breakout sessions on that day - some of which will be slanted towards the distributors. This decision was undertaken by A&D management after a careful consultation with its partners. This time around there will be distributor specific presentations aimed at strengthening our relationships with its distribution partners. The Distributor Conference will take place at Emperors Palace on Tuesday 24 October. This year will see a total of 10 different streams on offer compared to the six in 2005. These sessions are designed to provide a platform offering deeper insights into products, vertical industry solutions and case studies.

An additional bonus in 2006 is the ability of delegates to attend Siemens-certified training courses in the breakaway streams. Not only will attendees leave the conference with new knowledge that can be applied in their businesses, but will also add new certified skills to their personal and corporate proficiency portfolios.

The keynote speaker at this conference is Rudolf Martin Siegers who has been the head of the A&D CD Division (low-voltage controls and distribution) since July 2004. He began his career at Siemens in 1981 as sales and marketing engineer in the systems business in Cologne and Erlangen, Germany. He then became head of the A&D Group in the Region North Rhine-Westphalia and from 1997 to 2000 in Brazil. Prior to his new position, Siegers had been responsible for the Siemens Corporate Program 'Customer Focus' within the scope of the Siemens Management System.

The conferences will be closed off by the Cyber Junkyard university competition. In this competition, various educational institutions will be sponsored with R100 000 worth of Siemens equipment and tasked with building a solution to a problem Siemens sets. The winners will be announced at the Gala Evening, which will be held at Emperors Palace on 24 October 2006. The victorious team will win a further R100 000 as a donation to their university.
